The control of a scalpel. The bleeding control of traditional electrosurgery.
The Plasma Blade is unlike any cutting or coagulation device on the market. The blade is powered by plasma, often referred to as the 4th state of matter. The proprietary Pulsar Generator focuses the plasma-based energy through the Plasma Blade. This results in a focused field of energy that cuts and coagulates at temperatures as low as 50 degrees centigrade.
Traditional scalpels are also capable of creating fine incisions but do nothing to control bleeding. Typical radio frequency based devices such as common “Bovies” and “RF” generators heat tissue to over 100 degrees. This results in substantial injury, bruising, and compromised scar formation.
The focused low temperature beam of the Plasma Blade cuts and accelerates the coagulation cascade. Other energy driven cutting and coagulation devices boil tissue resulting in a cautery rather then a coagulation effect.
“Over the past two years we have beta trialed different RF devices and laser devices for Labiaplasty. Scoring the devices for wound healing, hemostasis, and ease of use, the PlasmaBlade has shown consistent superiority.”

All of the PlasmaBlade tissue dissection surgical devices are used in conjunction with The Pulsar Generator, which supplies pulsed waveforms that produce short plasma-mediated electrical discharges through the PlasmaBlade. Because the radiofrequency is provided in short on-and-off pulses with low duty cycle, and the blade is insulated, heat diffusion and associated heat damage to surrounding tissues is limited, resulting in less collateral damage and more precise tissue dissection. In contrast, most radiofrequency-based surgical devices use continuous voltage waveforms and un-insulated electrodes to cut tissue.
The PlasmaBlade provides surgeons with a single device that offers:
